Wanted to love, but...

Skin type: Combination I wanted to love this product while I was first embarked on my search for the perfect moisturizer - after all, it’s so highly reviewed, supposed to be formulated for all skin types (including combination, like mine), and has a great pricepoint. HOW I USED IT: I tried using it for two months in order to give my skin time to adjust the switch from Drunk Elephant’s Protini Peptide Moisturizer to this (with the reason I switched being that I found Drunk Elephant’s protini peptide moisturizer to be too expensive for too little product). I changed nothing else in my routine - at the time I was using the Inkey List’s retinol and the Good Genes treatment from Sunday Riley after washing my face with the Fresh Soy Cleanser (I soon stopped using that cleanser because I found it didn’t clean my face deeply enough, as I’m very prone to clogged pores). I was also using the drunk elephant manula oil after moisturizing to finish off my routine, and once a week I used drunk elephant’s sukari babyfacial. THIS PRODUCT’S EFFECT: Simply put, this product wasn’t hydrating enough, despite the fact that at the time I was using it, I was using a gentler cleanser than I am now. Even with combination skin, I found that it didn’t hydrate the dry parts of my face OR the oily parts of my face enough, resulting in flaking in my dry areas and excessive oiliness and breakouts in my oily areas due to the fact that my skin was trying to produce more sebum to overcompensate for the lack of hydration/moisture. I wanted to love it so bad because of how highly rated it is, and I tried to give it time to work, but eventually I had to just face the fact that, at least in my case, this product is no good. THE VERDICT: It’s definitely a product I WOULDN’T try again. Yes, the price point is great for a higher-end moisturizer, but I guess sometimes what you get is what you pay for. I have a hard time thinking this would work for anyone with Dry, Combination, or acne-prone oily skin. Review imported from Sephora

good for dry skin

Skin type: Dry I have super dry skin and this product has helped me so much Review imported from Sephora

Holy Grail!

Skin type: Combination This is my holy grail face moisturizer!!! I’ve been using it for years now and cannot be without it. I have tried other moisturizers with similar claims but they either break me out or are not hydrating at all. This moisturizer sinks into the skin so well. It leaves you dewy and your skin feeling plumped and moisturized. I buy the value size whenever it’s available and always have a back up for when I run out. Review imported from Sephora

More hydrating than my $200+ face cream

Skin type: Combination I’ve used $200+ face cream that’s not as hydrating as this one! My face got patchy under foundation/bb/cc or even sunscreens, this is the only cream that saved me from it. I recently tried a serum with retinol and started to experience redness and breakout, this cream is so soothing and it calms my skin wonderfully. Can’t say enough good things about it, LOVE LOVE LOVE! Review imported from Sephora

I do not recommend this product.

Skin type: Combination It gets one star because it broke me out across my nose, bridge, chin and forehead. I have combination skin and didn’t think it was overly sensitive but I didn’t see any good results from this cream at all, especially for the price. I could have had a better result from a drugstore cream, at a quarter of the price. I cannot recommend this product. Review imported from Sephora
